To mark our fifth year of operation we invited patients, health care professionals and researchers representing our therapeutic focus areas to share their experiences of working with the Aparito platform. We chose examples that would highlight Aparito’s patient focus, with stories of collaboration to deliver monitoring outside of the hospital (often remotely) using our ePRO modules.
Our Precision Medicine study in partnership with Red Cross Children’s War Memorial and University of Cape Town, South Africa is progressing well. Recruitment is now almost complete, and the majority of participants are engaging well with using the technology. Some challenges have been encountered, which is not unexpected when deploying innovative technology and supporting a cohort of families with limited resources whose children have multiple neurological disabilities, and whose care takes up a lot of time. This experience is invaluable, and as planned in this pilot study provides insight into the realities for future E-health initiatives for routine care and research in South Africa.

Welsh health data company Aparito were represented at the UK wide AXA 2018 Health Tech & You awards ceremony held on the 9th May 2018 at the headquarters of the Royal College of General Practitioners in London. The company who were established in 2014 were joint winners of the Health Tech & You award for early diagnosis of dementia. Dr Elin Haf Davies, Aparito’s founder and Chief Executive Officer who hails from Bala but now lives in London, collected the award for the company’s proposal using a machine learning platform to monitor changes in sleep, activity, voice, ADL and memory collectively.

Welsh based digital health company Aparito, today announced that they have been awarded funding by the Newton Fund to deploy their technology in South Africa. The Newton Fund builds research and innovation partnerships with 18 partner countries to support their economic development and social welfare, and to develop their research and innovation capacity for long-term sustainable growth. It has a total UK Government investment of £735 million up until 2021, with matched resources from the partner countries.
